Priorities may be assigned to an application if your situation meets certain criteria. The only priorities available in our district are described below.
Special Priority
Your application may be assigned “Special Priority” status if:
- You, or someone in your household, are being abused by a family member that you have lived with in the past three months, even if you don’t live with that person anymore.
- You are planning to permanently separate yourself from the abuser.

Urgent Status
Your application may be assigned “Urgent Status” if:
- You are living in accommodations which have been condemned or destroyed by fire or natural disaster and you have no place to live
- You are a resident of the district of Nipissing, have ‘high need’ income, and do not own a home
