The Cannabis Forum is open to everyone in the community. It is taking place at 7:00 p.m., June 19th, 2018 at Elks Lodge in North Bay, Ontario.
What Parents, Guardians, Grandparents, Caregivers and you need to know about Cannabis – (from a variety of speakers).
Speakers & Topics:
Dr. R. Dell’Aquilla: Addiction Medicine Specialist
Will speak on what cannabis is, the effects of cannabis and the health risks.
Dr. J. Chirico: Medical Officer of Health
Will speak about ways to reduce the harms associated with cannabis use and how to talk to kids about it.
Curtis Latimer: Pharmacist
Will speak on why people use medical cannabis and what the regulations around medical cannabis are.
Constable Kim Davidson: OPP Drug Recognition Officer
Will speak to:
- Is it okay to drive around after getting high?
- How will you test for impaired driving?
- Is enforcement charging drivers presently for driving high and what are the fines for impaired with drugs?
Detective Constable B. Reaume: North Bay City Police Street Crime
Will speak to the age people will need to be to buy & use cannabis, where can it be used as well as what the legal limits around possession and growth will be.
Following a five-minute presentation from the speakers, the session will be opened to the public to ask questions.
